In essence it says that due to a BUG on the used panasonic chipset these functions are not working. The bug is not fixable by firmware update.

 

Update 2: I asked AudioHolics about the issue and they know of it too. Sound United (Denon, Marantz) will release info on this soon.

As stated in the article from heise there may be workarounds. How they look and how practical they are has to be elaborated.

 

Update 1: It seems the problem is specific to XBOX Series X and NVIDIA graphicscards. PS5 should work, but is not proven.

 

Guess we have to wait a bit till it clears up.

Vad tror ni när hemsidan specar och flashar med funktioner som inte fungerar.
Svensk konsumentköplag är ganska tydliga här.

Oj vad illa om det stämmer. Årets receivers klarar alltså inte 4K 120Hz HDR med nya Xbox eller Nvidia 3000 korten pga en hårdvarubug i ett chip. Skärmen blir svart.

Update 3: Audioholics got a Response from Sound United in short: Sound United will offer a permanent solution at a later date. They are currently investigating the issue. (I think personally this will mean replacement of board or receiver) Workarounds are: set source to 4k60 or connect directly to the TV.

Det är inte en lösning på problemet. Vi som lagt 13 000 på en receiver med vissa specifikationer ska inte behöva köpa en låda för flera tusen för de gjort fel.
Visst, har man en av någon anledning liggandes är de säkert en temporär fix, men inte en lösning på problemet.

Jag antar att man kommer få skicka in som receiver för åtgärd som Onkyo gjorde mellan 2016-2018(?).

Ja, det verkar vara något problem med Youtube. Helt plötsligt har videos börjat se ut så där för en massa andra.

Så det är därför som Yamaha inte kan svara när de börjar skicka ut sina Aventage stärkare, väntar på en Yamaha RX-A8 men verkar som man får vänta lite längre då.

 Official Sound United Response Regarding the HDMI 2.1 Chipset Bug

Some new gaming source devices that support 4K/120Hz output may not work fully with Denon (or Marantz) 8K AVRs. You may discover this incompatibility issue due to a HDMI chipset mismatch between the devices. When the affected system is connected to the AVR via 8K HDMI input and set to output at 4K/120Hz, and the AVR’s 4K Signal Format option is set to “8K Enhanced,” you may not see the system’s source video on their display, and may not hear the system’s source audio processed through the AVR. This problem is only present when a display that supports 4K/120Hz is used.

We are currently investigating the issue further and will offer a permanent solution at a later date. Meanwhile, we would like to provide a couple workarounds to prevent the issue in its current state:

•  You can connect the system to the display directly via HDMI and use the display’s ARC/eARC functionality to feed the native audio back to the AVR using the connected HDMI cable between the AVR and display. This will allow users to decode the native audio format sent from the source. With this method, the display’s CEC/ARC option must be enabled as well as the AVR’s HDMI Control and/or the AVR’s ARC option. In the AVR, this option is located within the GUI under “Video – HDMI Setup.”

•  Another workaround is to leave or change the source’s video output to 4K/60Hz instead of 4K/120Hz until a permanent solution is available. This will ensure reliable communication between the source, the AVR and the display. The source’s default is set to output at 4K/60Hz, so if no change was initiated out of the box, then nothing further needs to be done.

We apologize for this inconvenience and we are currently working tirelessly to release a permanent solution so you can enjoy the 4K/120Hz experience using the latest sources with your AVR. We will have an update soon regarding the timeline of a permanent solution. We appreciate your patience.

Möjligt att det går att fixa med firmware/drivrutiner så att det går att köra PC med 2.1 grafikkort (3080) 4k120Hz+HDR+VRR stabilt via receivern. När det kommer till Series X verkar det behövas byte av chip.

As noted earlier, Sound United is making the new adapter box available free of charge to affected owners if they order one within their AVR’s warranty period. Owners of the Denon and Marantz models listed below will be able to register to receive the adapter from May 15th, with shipments expected to start by the end of May. Bear in mind, though, that even if you have one of the affected AVRs you really don’t need to bother ordering SPK618 unless you have an Xbox Series X and a TV capable of 4K/120Hz playback.
