This is what I sent several days ago to the Samsung Mobile, UK:
Wave 8500 upgrade
I am not sure if this is the right department to ask my question, but there are no other departments available.
If you have been following Samsung Wave forums, you have definitely noticed how the current owners of the Wave want badly to upgrade their devices through Kies to the most recent version, Bada 1.2. They first bought the Wave S8500 which had no any reputation, just by trusting Samsung, tested the Bada 1.2 through so called "leaked" upgrades, and now Samsung is behaving wishy washy about releasing an official version of Bada 1.2 for Wave S8500. That is a shame! Don't you think peoples' patience is coming to an edge. Those same people who have helped you promote the Wave might start writing all over the Web "DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG, DO NOT BUY BADA, DO NOT BUY WAVE., THEY WILL DROP YOU LIKE A HOT PATATO"
Seriously, answer me without beating around the bush:
1. Is the Wave S8500 getting Bada 1.2 upgrade at all
2. If yes, then when
3. Why not right away since we know it is ready
If you can not answer without talking to the Headquarter in Korea, than don't. First talk to them and give me a straightforward answer.
Thanks a lot

Dear xxxxxx xxxxxxx:
Thank you for contacting Samsung and I have pleasure in providing the
following assistance.
Regarding your case, kindly note that without getting back to the
Headquarters in Korea, the information that we hold right on the next
Firmware upgrade for the Wave is as follows:
There will be a release of the 1.2 version of Bada, however, we don't
hold any information on the exact release date.
In regards to your query on why is it not release right now, is because
our development team is doing their best to make sure that the next
Firmware upgrade doesn't include any bugs or issues with it, for the
phone to run smoothly.
In regards to your query about the leaked versions of the Firmware,
please note that we have Reported Feedbacks from our customers in
regards to this upgrade, which resulted in either having the phone
performing very slow and laggy. In some cases, the leaked version
either killed the Software on the phone, or damaged the whole phone, it
won't operate anymore.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, caused by the delay in the
release of the Firmware, however, we ensure you that this delay is for
your benefit and for all our customers benefits since it's meant to
ensure that the phone would operate as perfect and as smooth as it
should be.
If you require any further assistance, please contact Samsung again and
we will be more than happy to help.
Kind regards
