I am currently here at E3 and a lot of things are going on. It is exciting to see a new console generation coming up.
At the moment we still did not get a final confirmation whether our Xbox 360 wheels will work on Xbox One natively (USB) or with an adaper or upgrade kit or not at all. Therefore we cannot promise you anything other than that we are trying to find a solution and if MS allows it then we would certainly support any solution which increases the compatibility of your XBox 360 wheels.
You can be sure that we are working to make our wheels compatible with the next gen consoles or develop solutions which will provide compatibility but at this point it is too early to discuss it.
In any case our wheels will work with GT6 and after playing it, I am quite excited about the improvements of the physics.

FORZA MOTORSPORT 5 LIMITED EDITION
With multiple car packs, VIP membership privileges, and packed-in content, the Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition is the ultimate package for Forza Motorsport 5 fans. The Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition features the all-new 2014 Audi RS7 Sportback on the cover and includes the following digital content:

Limited Edition Car Pack – This five-car pack features new cars that are already destined for legendary status. Each car in the “Forza Motorsport 5” Limited Edition Car Pack will feature a Limited Edition livery and will be tuned to the top of its respective class. The cars in the “Forza Motorsport 5” Limited Edition Car Pack include*:

2011 Audi RS3 Sportback – More than a mere grocery-getter, the RS3 Sportback marries performance with practicality. The result is a 340-horsepower grin-generator that will paste your head to the back of the seat and not crack a single egg in the process.

2012 Aston Martin Vanquish – As comfortable on the track as it is on cozy country lanes, the Aston Martin Vanquish is equal parts refined style and snarling, road-taming grit.

2013 Ford M Shelby Mustang GT500 – While the GT500’s aggressive lines suggest raw power and straight-line speed to spare, the sound of that big 5.8-liter V8 simply screams, “Get out of the way!”

2013 McLaren P1™ – The successor to McLaren’s legendary F1, the McLaren P1™ is an automotive highlight reel: technological innovation, gorgeous contours, and pure, unapologetic performance. Epic, legendary, astounding – words tend to fail when describing this car’s limitless potential.

2013 SRT Viper GTS – The return of the Viper has been celebrated by automotive fans worldwide. With an 8.4-liter V10 that’s capable of pushing the GTS to a top speed north of 200 mph, the 2013 Viper GTS has once again firmly entrenched its spot near the top of the American Muscle hierarchy.

VIP Membership – Forza Motorsport 5 VIPs enjoy exclusive benefits, including 2x player reward acceleration, access to exclusive multiplayer events, an exclusive in-game player card badge, and in-game gifts from the Forza community team.** VIPs will also have access to the Forza Motorsport 5 VIP Car Pack, featuring five amazing cars only available to VIP members, including:

1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C — Marketed as “the fastest streetcar in the world,” the 427 S/C is the most desirable of all the Shelby Cobra variants. Out of the 100 that were planned only 53 were built. They are nothing less than a purpose-built race car converted at the last minute for street use.

1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird — Dubbed the “Yellowbird” by journalists during a test drive event, the 1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird earns its name thanks to the canary-like chirping of its twin turbo blow-off valve. Just 29 of these cherished classics were built.

1991 Mazda #55 787B – One of the most beloved race cars of all time, the 787B holds the distinction as being Japan’s only winner of a 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Featuring a brash green and orange livery and an unmistakable screaming Wankel rotary engine, the 787B continues to inspire more than 20 years after its debut.

2011 Ford F150 SVT Raptor — Say hello to your rear view mirror's worst nightmare. The Raptor is essentially a factory-built pre-runner race truck with suspension to match its under-the-hood muscle. Slide it, jump it, whatever you like — it just begs for more.

2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport – Even among hypercars, the Veyron Super Sport stands alone. After all, this is the car that currently holds the Guinness record for “World’s Fastest Car” at speeds approaching 270 mph.

In addition, Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition owners will receive a custom Steelbook™ case, a decal sheet featuring “Forza Motorsport 5”, “Xbox One”, and Audi window decals, and 1,250 car tokens (a $9.99 value) that will allow Limited Edition owners instant access to any car in the game. The Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition will be available for an estimated retail price of $79.99 at launch and is now available for pre-order at participating retailers.

FORZA MOTORSPORT 5 DAY ONE EDITION
Forza Motorsport 5 fans will also have the option to pre-order the Forza Motorsport 5 Day One Edition, featuring the Day One Car Pack and special Day One commemorative packaging with artwork that matches the Xbox One Day One console design.

Day One Car Pack – This three-car pack features amazing cars from Lamborghini, Audi, and Ford; each with a Day One-themed livery and custom tuning package created by the experts at Turn 10. The Day One Car Pack includes the following cars*:

2010 Audi TT RS Coupe – Stuffed stem to stern with modern tech, the TT RS is the first TT model to carry Audi’s famed RS badge – a distinction that’s earned on the track from the moment you step on the gas.

2013 Ford Focus ST – Debuting with the same 247-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine from the much larger Ford Explorer SUV, the new Ford Focus ST packs a serious punch.

2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera – Like great sculpture, the Superleggera’s chiseled form is carefully considered for maximum impact. That’s where the similarities end, however, because this work of art is best appreciated when it’s moving at top speed.

The Day One edition of Forza Motorsport 5 will be available for an estimated retail price $59.99 at launch and is now available for pre-order at participating retailers.

As we announced last week, “Forza Motorsport 5” will be playable at gamescom this year! In addition to giving thousands of fans the chance to play the game for the first time, we also have a ton of news about “Forza Motorsport 5”, including the announcement of two tracks that will be featured in the game: the return of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and, brand new to the Forza series, Spa-Francorchamps!

The addition of Spa-Francorchamps to “Forza Motorsport 5” will surely be music to Forza fans’ ears. Nestled in the Ardennes countryside of Belgium, the 4.3-mile Spa track is home to legendary corners like “La Source” and “Eau Rouge” and has been one of the most requested tracks from fans since the Forza series’ beginning. Laser-scanned and meticulously recreated at 1080p and 60fps, Spa makes its franchise debut in “Forza Motorsport 5”. We’ll have more on Spa, including screenshots of the track in the future, so stay tuned!

Located in central California, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca has become an iconic location in American racing and is home to the illustrious “Corkscrew” curve. Famous for its staggering drop in elevation, Laguna Seca is known for its busy racing calendar, including the American Le Mans Series as well as the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, which took place last weekend as part of the Monterey Peninsula’s annual Classic Car Week. This week, gamescom attendees will have the chance to take a lap of Laguna Seca in the playable build of Forza Motorsport 5 found at the Xbox booth.

Gamescom attendees will be among the first players in the world to test drive the new physics engine that is at the heart of the “Forza Motorsport 5” gameplay experience. For “Forza Motorsport 5”, the developers at Turn 10 Studios worked closely with their partners at Calspan – the leading tire testing organization in the world – to develop a completely new and unique set of tire data, including tests and parameters that have never before been utilized in racing games.

“Developing and improving the driving physics has, in many ways, become the central pursuit for the Forza Motorsport series,” said Forza Motorsport 5 creative director Dan Greenawalt. “We are always chasing that perfect simulation where we can accurately recreate the infinite variables of driving in the digital world. At the same time, that pursuit is always tempered by the limits of what we know about the science of vehicle dynamics and the properties of high performance materials.

“For Forza Motorsport 5, we have an incredibly powerful console at our disposal in the Xbox One. To make the most of that power, we had to collect data on tire variables that have never been isolated – to refactor our understanding of tire technology through the lens of a much more powerful console; one that could handle the increasingly complex formulae of heat, slip and weight transfer that our increased understanding demands. Thanks to the power of the Xbox One and our Calspan partnership, we are implementing truly cutting edge scientific understanding of tire physics, suspension geometry, and aerodynamics – we’re not implementing the recommendations of last year’s text books, we’re running the tests that will write the vehicle dynamics text books of the next several years.”

As the link between the player, the car, tires are the crucial key to the “Forza Motorsport 5” driving experience. By using state-of-the-art Calspan data, the driving model in “Forza Motorsport 5” has been developed with the most current and realistic tire data to be found in the world. For the player, this means a new level of depth and control to be found in all the cars in the game, and a new level of immersion and challenge each time they play the game.

Forza Motorsport 5 was exhibited at Tokyo Game Show, exposed to the Japanese press, and we know that the Japanese are big petrolheads. They love their car games. So I was quite interested in reading their previews of the game expecting high praise considering what I saw myself at Gamescom.

The first preview is now out, ran by the popular and quite respected website Game Watch and it’s very different from what I expected.

The writer, Seiji Nakamura, laments a severe visual downgrade from what he experienced at E3. The gist of the problem is that in the Forza 5 corner of the Microsoft booth things looked so bad that the monitors seemed badly adjusted. Aliasing and jaggies were standing out.

In the Forza 5 press room the situation was even worse, with the picture quality defined as “rough” like what you’d see if the output was 720p, with a definite visual degradation from the E3 version.

Nakamura-san continues by saying that the quality simply wasn’t the same as the original Forza 5, and the version he tried at Tokyo Game Show did not reach the level of the screenshots of the game at all. He actually asked a the Japanese product manager for the game bout the problem, and all he was told is that the folks at Microsoft are aware of the problem.

Before you think that Nakamura-san may be biased because he’s Japanese and Forza 5 is a Xbox One exclusive, moving past the graphical mishaps he actually gave quite high praise to the gameplay and the simulation quality.

The previous preview of the E3 build of the game on Game Watch, written by Nakamura-san himself, was also definitely glowing with praise. I’ll just tell you that its title was “The world’s ultimate racing game: Forza Motorsport 5″. That’s obviously not what someone biased against the game or the platform would write.

Below you can see an off-screen recording filmed by the folks at IGN at Microsoft’s booth. Unfortunately it’s quite hard to judge for ourselves from a video on YouTube. Hopefully the problems described by Nakamura-san are exclusively due to badly adjusted monitors, as what I saw of the game at Gamescom was definitely impressive, and it would be a pity to see it downgraded

Without cars, there would be no Forza and Forza Motorsport 5 is the ultimate showcase for some of the most exquisite cars in the world. We know Forza fans love their cars just as much as we do, so consider this your go-to-guide to keep you up-to-date on all of the latest car announcements for Forza Motorsport 5. Each week, on Wednesday, we’ll be updating this story with the latest car announcements. For more, check out our Facebook page and, to talk about all the cars in the game, head over to our official Forza Motorsport 5 Showroom thread on the forums.

And now on to…

This Week’s Cars

2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR

Here is the full-size image of the Evo showing the impeccable detail Forza Motorsport 5 delivers.

When Mitsubishi designed an all-new Lancer, the basis of the Evolution X, they built a healthy dose of pure aggression into the bodywork. This suits the Evo just fine, as it’s been beefed up in the performance department too. The heart of the matter is the new 2-liter turbo-charged four cylinder that uses an aluminum block for the first time in an Evo, which saves an important 26 lbs. even with the addition of features like dual variable valve timing and a timing chain. In addition to saving weight, the new engine makes even more power, a total of 295 horsepower. But that’s not all—aluminum also finds its way into the body of the Evo, and less weight and more power necessarily equals better performance. That formula is proven emphatically by the ability of the all-wheel drive Evo to scramble to 60 mph in just 5 seconds, and pull nearly a full lateral G on the skid pad. The overall impression the Evo leaves you with is that it could tackle any corner you can throw at it, and this is an impression borne out by the experience behind the wheel.

2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II

Here is the full-size image of the Skyline all its glory.

As the penultimate edition of the “R34” series Skyline GT-R, and in fact, as one of the last of the traditionally inline-six powered Skylines, the V-Spec II is destined to be a collectible. Let’s hope that this doesn’t mean that existing models are parked in garages and never driven, because driving is exactly what Nissan intended this GT-R to do. The V-Spec II (the “V” stands for “victory,” by the way) comes with all of the goodies that the original V-Spec had, but it’s even harder-edged thanks to increased stiffness and lighter weight (primarily due to a special carbon fiber hood, spotted at a distance by the small NACA duct). The RB26DETT engine will be familiar to Skyline fans, but only the very fanatical will know offhand that the ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system is actually the “Pro” version, with an active limited-slip differential that splits torque laterally if necessary. Externally, small “V-Spec II” badges and a large “bi-plane” rear wing differentiate this Skyline from lesser models. With well over 300 horsepower, the GT-R is not only quick, it’s very much so—particularly in poor traction situations where the all-wheel drive system comes into the fore.

In addition, we’re announcing the following cars in the game:

2009 Zonda Cinque Roadster
2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8
2013 Ford Focus ST
2010 Audi TT RS Coupe
2012 Scion TC
2009 Jeep Cherokee SRT8
2011 Kia Cee'd
2005 TVR Sagaris
1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA Stradale
1999 Dodge Viper GTS ACR
1998 Eagle Talon TSi Turbo
2009 Ferrari California
2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R
2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
1994 Mazda MX-5 Miata
2010 Maserati GranTurismo S
2003 Toyota Celica SS-I
1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe
1971 AMC Javelin-AMX

Forza Motorsport 5: Hands On, Assists Off – A Hardcore Perspective

The new physics system feels significantly different to previous titles, that’s for certain. In the Focus it was now much more difficult to carry the right amount of speed through the bends to not understeer (fading outwards while cornering) into the corners but then also not suffer massive amounts of torque/under steer out of the bends when putting the power on.

This subtle new balance is nothing short of a pure delight for true racer fans, because it means we have new levels of balance and finesse to perfect when lapping our favourite circuits. If you want to turn all of the assists off, then be prepared to put on your big-boy-pants and concentrate. Understeer is now a much bigger factor, thanks to the fact that in all of the cars, there was a much higher feeling and even visible amount of force on the cars that caused them to get unsettled while cornering. Again, if you have ever lapped a track in a real car as a driver or a passenger, you will know that you start really feeling the limits of a car when you realise that all four wheels are doing this light jiggle underneath you while under load. Finding the balance that keeps the car fast and settled is a big part of what makes lapping a car so enjoyable, and from what I felt in the demo the physics are able to deliver a much more satisfying and realistic feeling of force, weight, suspension load and that all too important feeling of rubber to the road, especially thanks to the feedback you get from the new Xbox trigger feedback. Oh, those wonderful triggers.

The demo I played used the standard controller and while the awesome new trigger feedback was really something to behold, the input from the thumbsticks still felt like it could use a little more fine tuning. It was especially frustrating when I threw the Ferrari into a corner to attempt a fun drift, only to find the in-game driver taking too long to correct the the car even though I was jamming the stick in the opposite direction and ending up in the gravel once again.

In all seriousness though, I really do have to take a moment to praise the incredible new feedback system that Microsoft has integrated into the new controller’s triggers. Rumble feedback has been available for a long time now, and is a great way to convey a message to your hands and brain that you are bashing into the car in front of you, running over a rough surface or running wide over a red and white curb. Now if rumble was the deep base that plays out in a song, then the triggers are the treble, the detail. By using these smaller motors and linking them directly to the triggers, the game is able to fully convey information relating to the sudden jerk of your wheels locking up, the slipping out of your tires as you lose traction and all the smaller details that happen in-between.

Once you have tried Forza with the new triggers, you will feel like there is no going back. These triggers are to controls what surround sound was to stereo, or HD was to SD. Suddenly there is clarity and an additional amount of information at your disposal and the kind that you could live without… but you really wouldn’t want to.

When testing the cars out in Forza 4 it was now very apparent that I was able to carry way more speed into the corners without much fuss whereas in Forza 5 I had to watch my balance and approach speeds a lot more. Push too hard into a corner in Forza 5 and you find your car losing bits of grip on different tires, fading off past your line and dumping you in the dirt whereas Forza 4 will be a little happier to catch your car for you and let you get on your way.

To conclude my brief but interesting experience with Forza Motorsport 5, I can say that the visuals are clean and the cars are drop dead gorgeous, but lying in wait underneath is a new physics system that is sure to get the hard-core fans really excited and hopefully make the assisted driving even more fun and authentic for the casuals. The biggest changes I felt really came down to the new feeling of a more realistic traction/physics/suspension system that really made the car feel like it was moving around under load and under breaking. Of course my experience was brief and far from a really in-depth look at everything the game and its new features have to offer. Also keep in mind that this was also a demo, and things may still change… but for the most part the game incredibly solid and close to completion.

At the end of the day I was very happy with what Forza Motorsport 5 had shown me. The more authentic the experience is, the more we get to live out our digital fantasies of taming some of the most desirable vehicles that the world has to offer… and that looks to be exactly what Forza Motorsport 5 is going to be providing at launch.

Also, did I mention those new Xbox One feedback triggers? Oh man… those triggers.

Men på Fanatec-rattfronten verkar det vara mörkt... :-(

We are also trying hard to protect the investment of our existing customers
by making our current products upwards compatible. But we cannot
confirm that before the final consoles are released.

Vad skall man säga då!
2 Varv Mazda Laguna Seca

Grepp som enda in i **** IBLAND!

Rutorna går sönder i krasch.
