BDP-LX70 Blu-ray disc player
Our first Blu-ray disc player will be available in June. Here's a brief overview of what you can expect:
* See and hear as the film-maker’s intended
The BDP-LX70 gets the best out of high definition media. It delivers ‘master quality’; audio and video exactly as the film-makers intended, perfectly played back at 1080p and 24Hz.
That is, at exactly the same speed and using the same 24 frames per second as the film was shot, stored, mastered and screened at the cinema.
The player supports Dolby TrueHD. This means that not only are you guaranteed full high definition video quality, but “lossless” audio: sound without any distortion, interference or noise.
Audio exactly as the film sound engineers intended.
* Build a true HD home network solution
As the traditional walls between the living room and the study begin to fall, it is essential that you can enjoy entertainment content from your home PCyou’re your home cinema system, too.
The BDP-LX70 can therefore receive compressed audio, movie and image files across your home IP network.
The player is DLNA™ compatible (by Ethernet), which means that content such as MPEG2, WMV9, WMA9 Pro, MP3 and JPEG files (for example) can be streamed from a home computer or server to the player.
Few manufacturers have been able to provide a direct, uncompromised link between an HD source, player and flat screen.
Our design philosophy is to ensure straight-through connectivity where there is absolutely no loss of high definition quality, from start to finish, from the source to the screen.
When combined with our LX series amplifier and plasma screen, the BDP-LX70 ensures exactly that. It’s part of a true HD home network solution.
* High quality design and build
The BDP-LX70 has our now-trademark piano black glossy finish, and is constructed to perform at the high-end of the AV spectrum.
It has an efficient, double-layered chassis, which delivers incredible mechanical stability; important in ensuring interference-free playback of media.
Each component within the player is designed for high-performance, with the main circuit, power supply, Blu-ray drive and audio circuits sealed for mechanical strength.
Gold-plated terminals further enhance the BDP-LX70 promise of high quality, high definition output.
* Multiple formats, multiple media
The BDP-LX70 is not only a Blu-ray disc player, but can also play your entire DVD collection, supporting both PAL and NTSC playback. And of course, it can play audio CDs, too.
In addition to DNLA CERTIFIED™ sources, the player also complies with Windows Media™ Player 11, offering a host of options for playback of multi-media files directly from a home PC.
* Straightforward, simple operation
Finally, the player operation is intuitive. GUI languages include English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Russian.
The BDP-LX70 uses HDMI control (HDMI-CEC = Consumer Electronics Control), which means that, once it is connected to a Pioneer flat screen TV, for example, a single remote control can be used to control both systems.
* Availability
The BDP-LX70 will be commercially available in June. In the near future, Pioneer is planning to introduce a HD Audio Bitstream output player to replace this model.
