The new 42-inch LCD FlatTV – 42PF9830A – is part of Philips’ Connected Planet portfolio, which makes use of a number of technologies that are marketed as Streamium. Based on the Wi-Fi® 802.11g standard, Streamium-equipped Philips televisions empower consumers to wirelessly stream their favorite audio and video content from the Internet or from a home PC and enjoy their movies, music and photos through a stylish display. With the 2005 line of FlatTVs, Philips creates a world where consumers can access and enjoy content wherever and whenever they want.

The 42PF9830A has a unique design with contrasting colors, a black high gloss rim around the screen and a cabinet in pearl white silver. Along with the other models in Philips’ 2005 line, the 42PF9830A is designed to deliver the best viewing experience possible.

The picture quality of the 42PF9830A display is improved with Pixel Plus 2 HD technology making HD signals look even better than HD, and the set also is equipped with the latest version of Ambient Light (Ambilight 2) Technology, a revolutionary lighting system that improves perceived picture quality and offers a more immersive viewing experience.

The TV has an integrated ATSC tuner and is digital cable ready with a cable card slot built right in. Philips demonstrates its commitment to the Connected Planet vision by including advanced technology features to offer the latest connectivity, including USB and HDMI connectors, a digital memory card reader and a wireless PC and Internet link.

This 42-inch television provides the best audio and video performance without compromise. It will be available in June 2005 with a suggested retail price of $3,999.
