Hi.
This mail is intended for Sony.
I was one of the many people waiting and longing for a home entertainment system.
And one day there it was the Sony PS3.
It had all I was looking for. BD player, Game console and you could install Linux on it.
Ok this looks promising I thought, but as a home entertainment system it has to be quiet.
After a lot of reading, both reviews and statements from Sony I was almost overwhelmed with joy.
It got horse powers, HDMI1.3, and it was quiet (as quiet as PS2 thin).
I now decided to pre book a PS3 on the net so I would get this wonder of a machine on the release date.
On March the 23rd I got my long awaited PS3.
I unpacked the lovely machine but something was wrong.
After 10 minutes it was up on fan level 2 and after another 10 minutes it was on fan level number 3 and it was still IDLE.
I could hear the machine from 10 meters and to my horror it never left this fan level, it had to be something wrong.
I now returned the machine and bought a new one after a few days, I was now shocked when the same problem existed on this one.
I looked on the web and found out that there where many people having this problem and that we should call our local PS3 support.
I called the support but at this time they had no answers to give me, but they would mail me when they got something.
After a while I got a mail where they explained that I should return it to the shop where I bought the machine and they would fix it, this would take about three weeks according to the support.
I wasn’t thrilled but ok at least I would get a quiet machine three weeks later.
Three weeks later I see that the machine’s ready date is another two weeks away, I got no mail about this or anything.
But OK I can wait another two weeks to get a working machine.
After another two weeks I went down to my retailer to pick up my newly fixed and quiet machine, but no it’s still in England for repair.
The retailer is very sorry for the inconvenience they have caused and they would call me back in a couple of days.
I’m still calm and hopeful that I would get a working machine.
One day later they called me back and said that we would get a new one. I went down to my retailer and they gave me a new one.
I then went home and unpacked the machine. I must say that this time I wasn’t surprised when this machine had the same problem.
20 minutes in Idle and the fan is up to its tricks again. Guess what, I can send it in for repair.
I would now like to receive a new PS3 or that you would fix my current one as fast as possible.
I also want the new one to be tested so it is a quiet as a PS2 thin before you send it to me. I know how quiet they are.
If you can’t deliver a quiet one, then I would like to have my money back.
