Blu-ray Filmer

Känns som det spelar mindre roll om det är BD+ eller Java som ställer till problem för folk som köpt BD-spelare för ett antal tusenlappar. Klart man förväntar sig att den ska klara av och spela upp alla BD-filmer. Inte så att vanliga svensson börjar tänka i banor att det behövs en uppdaterad firmware för att se på filmen. Detta problemet har ju såklart inte bara Blu-ray utan även HD DVD. Får se vad som händer när 51Gb-skivorna kommer.

Absolut, det är inte den bästa situationen direkt, saken är dock den att spelare får uppdateringar för BD-J hela tiden, för att vissa saker ska funka och att det helt enkelt ska flyta snabbare.
Som jag misstänkte så fick BD+ skulden i det här fallet trots att det inte var sant.

Tänk på at de flesta BD standalones har ej ethernet port...kan bli jobbigt i längden med updates för varje film(BD+, BD-j) som släpps. Men tänker inte störa min vän Razter ikväll...han har ju paid på sin sida.

EDIT: Så du menar alltså att Day After Tomorrow inte funkar för att den har BD+? Varför funkar då inte Silver Surfer som inte har BD+?

The first BD+ is Day After Tomorrow, this was confirmed by looking at the Disc Structure (There's a BD+ drawers on the disc), this disc don't work on the LG and BDP 1200, but work on the Panasonic (Long load time) and PS3

New keys are being used on new fantastic 4 movie, but not BD+ was used on that titles..

I have some recent information that the playability problems with TDAT and F4 are not related to BD+, but instead have to do with the Java support on the players in question. The firmware updates should resolve it.

Playback Problems Reported on 'Silver Surfer,' 'Day After Tomorrow' Blu-ray Discs

Two of the most eagerly anticipated next-gen releases in recent memory have hit a series of playback snags on select Blu-ray players, but a fix is said to be on the way.

As we've previously reported, 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer' and 'Day After Tomorrow' (both released this past Tuesday) mark the first Blu-ray releases from Fox Home Entertainment following a six month sabbatical.

But while the discs have generally been well-received (our own Peter Bracke raved about the audio/video quality in his review of 'Silver Surfer'), what was initially a cause for celebration has become an exercise in frustration for some Blu-ray fans as incompatibility issues with some players have hindered playback of the discs.

The most severe problems have been reported on Samsung's BDP-1200 and LG's BH100, which are both said to be incapable of playing back the discs at all. Less catastophic issues (error messages and playback stutter) have been reported for Samsung's BDP-1000. The discs appear to play back fine on all other Blu-ray players (including the PlayStation 3), although users have reported lengthy load times of up to two minutes

It has been widely speculated that these issues stem from the use of BD+ copy protection on the two discs. We contacted Fox for comment, but so far there's no official word from the studio.

Calls placed to both Samsung and LG customer support revealed that both manufacturers are aware of the issue, and that both are working on firmware updates to correct it. Samsung promised a firmware update within "a couple" weeks, while LG said an update is expected in 3-4 days.

We'll keep you posted when/if any official statements are released by Fox or any of the manufacturers involved. In the meantime, we've set up a dedicated thread in our Forums area to discuss playback problems with both the 'Silver Surfer' and 'Day After Tomorrow' discs.

Underdog (BD) in December

Buena Vista Home Entertainment have announced the US Region A Blu-ray Disc release of Underdog on 18th December 2007 priced at $34.99 SRP. Jason Lee, Jim Belushi, Amy Adams and Patrick Warburton star in the story of Shoeshine, an unassuming beagle (voiced by Lee) who flunks out of K-9 training and falls into the clutches of the unscrupulous Dr. Simon Barsinister (Peter Dinklage).

Through a secret experiment gone awry, Shoeshine acquires incredible superpowers, including the ability to fly and speak. After escaping from the megalomaniacal doctor and his henchman Cad (Warburton), Shoeshine is adopted by an ex-cop (Belushi). Space Ace Coming to Blu-ray in 2008

Blu-ray Movies Following the impressive Blu-ray release of 'Dragon's Lair', Digital Leisure has announced that they will be bringing 'Space Ace' to Blu-ray sometime next year. No specs or extras have been announced at this time, but the PC version, which is expected this fall, should mirror most if not all of the features to be found on the Blu-ray.

Ultimate Force Extras Revealed

Blu-ray Movies BCI Home Entertainment has announced the special features which will be on their upcoming 'Ultimate Force' Blu-ray release, due in stores November 13th. They will include a making-of featurette, any interview with UFC and film star Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, and theatrical trailer. Exclusive to the high definition release will be footage of Mirko training.

Någon som vet om Pirates of the Carribean: Worlds End kommer vara regionskodad? Vet att film 1 och 2 är Region A, B och C, men hittar ingen info om den kommande filmen.

Den står som all regions på amazon.com (men JAG garanterar inget).

'Space Ace' to Race to Blu-ray, HD DVD in 2008

Following up its next-gen success with 'Dragon's Lair,' Digital Leisure has announced plans to bring 'Space Ace' to Blu-ray and HD DVD in 2008.

There are no details or even a street date yet, but the distributor has confirmed that next-gen versions of the arcade classic are a go for "sometime in the first half of 2008," following a new PC version (due this fall).

As was the case with 'Dragon's Lair,' Digital Leisure says it has gone back to the original audio and video elements of 'Space Ace' and produced a brand-new 1080p video master, as well as a 5.1 multi-channel surround mix.

Specs for the PC version of the game also indicate new making-of material featuring original creator Don Bluth and his animation team. We can only expect that this material will find its way to the next-gen versions as well.

varför fler storfilmer inte släpts kan man ju bara spekulera om, kanske väntar filmbolagen på att fler ska gå över från dvd till hd och därav få skyhöga försäljningssiffror på sina släpp, försöka hypa upp dom.

Superbad Blu-ray Announced

Sony Pictures Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the summer comedy hit 'Superbad' to Blu-ray on December 4th, day-and-date with the DVD release. The latest issue of Home Media Magazine lists the title as a two-release, so it appears Sony has something very special planned for this release. No specs have been announced at this time.

Can't wait for Homer and the gang to hit Blu-ray? Here's a tantalizing first look at what's to come.

As we've previously reported, following a blockbuster run in theaters, Fox Home Entertainment will bring 'The Simpsons Movie' to Blu-ray on December 18th, jam-packed with extras (all presented in full 1080p video).

Included among the previously-announced goodies are two audio commentaries with multiple cast and crew, three featurettes, deleted scenes, a Homer monologue from the "Tonight Show," and alternate character designs from the show's creator, Matt Groening.

The BD-50 dual-layer release will come with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track.

Now comes our first peek at the Blu-ray box art, and appropriately enough, in the few months between the film's theatrical release and its home video debut, it seems someone has managed to make a little more progress with that iconic donut from the film's theatrical marketing campaign:

När kommer första svenska filmen på bd/hddvd?

Någon som vet när "Simpsons-The Movie" släpps i Sverige på Blu-ray? Om det blir en sen release kanske det är läge att köpa den amerikanska utgåvan istället under december månad. Föredrar visserligen att köpa den med svensk text om det inte är ett för långt gap mellan utgivningarna.

Nä! Min Sammy är en Region A spelare och företaget ska släppa ut en firmware som löser problemen (BD java?) som finns på "F4 Silver". Den filmen går inte att spela alls nu på Samsung BD-P1200 och LGs combospelare.

Sony to bring “Resident Evil: Extinction” & box set both to Blu-ray Disc early next year

We’ve just been informed that apparently Sony Pictures is planning to bring the latest installment in the “Resident Evil” movie franchise, “Resident Evil: Extinction” to Blu-ray Disc on January 2nd, 2008. Also planned is a full box set that contains all three “Resident Evil” films. MSRP for the 3rd film will be $28.95 and the MSRP for the boxset will be $89.95. We’ll keep you informed as this title is confirmed by the Studio and when both cover art and Amazon pre-order links become available. So as always stay tuned!

Det är för BD och endast med det firmwaret som fanns när spelaren lanserades. Jag tror att det kom ett nytt firmware relativt snabbt som gjorde spelaren låst till region A.

OK, men att behålla en firmware som är regionsfri men inte klarar av att spela speciellt många skivor pga att firmwaren är för inaktuell är inte direkt lönt enligt mit.

Tycker det också är konstigt att den dyker upp så pass snabbt. Men man ska inte klaga, dessto tidigare dessto bättre

Någon mer än jag som kommer köra med båda HD-DVD och Blue-ray? Med tanke på att det kommer titlar som dom inte kan enas om så är det ju ett måste nästan.. Bara att hoppas att BR kan komma med en billigare spelare som HDDVD snart

Jo, här är en till ! Har HDDVD men får förhoppningsvis en bluray-spelare levererad på fredag.

MEN, då väldigt få av nyare filmer (på bio nu) verkar komma ut på något av HD-formaten, så blir det nog DVD som jag kommer att titta på mest ett bra tag framöver . Synd, för har man sett HD så känns DVD ganska suddig med undantag för de mest välgjorda som t ex Star Wars-boxen.

Är ju lite trist att Fox 'Silver Surfer,' 'Day After Tomorrow' Blu-ray har Playback Problem.

Är det någon här som har dom titlarna och har uppspelningsproblem ?
