Enligt sajten HD-beat kommer Bluray att lanseras på riktigt den 23:e maj.
Minst 8 filmtitlar (50 First Dates, The Fifth Element, Hitch, House of Flying Daggers, A Knight's Tale, The Last Waltz (MGM), Resident Evil Apocalypse och XXX) kommer att släppas på premiärdagen, och den första Blurayspelaren blir Samsungs BD-P1000.

BD-P1000 kommer att säljas för ungefär $1.000 och är utrustad med HDMI och bakåtkompabilitet med dagens standardformat (DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, DVD RW, and DVD R).


Fler spelare kommer att släppas i USA och Japan, exempelvis ryktas det om att Pioneer har en spelare på gång samt att Sony kommer att släppa en VAIO med BR.

Fler titlar finns att suga på.. kanadensiska dvdboxoffice.com har en massa, och det är inte högre priser än dagens. De har postat priser på hd-dvd med. Förresten har alla större märken släppt sina versioner av bd-spelare, men självklart svindyra. Massvis av bilder finns på blu-ray.com och information. Lär dröja till innan jul då vi får se en eltax med 720p native avspelning!
Sen är det väl aldrig fel med lossless DTS-ljudspår på blu-ray discarna i sju äkta kanaler, hehe.

"Samsung today announced that the industry's first Blu-ray player has been shipped to retailers in the U.S. market for availability on June 25th. The Samsung BD-P1000 plays Blu-ray software titles at the highest resolution available via a native 1080p HDMI output for films digitally mastered in 1920×1080p. The BD-P1000 also up-converts conventional DVDs to 1080p through the HDMI digital interface so the picture quality of any traditional DVD will look noticeably more detailed when used with the disc player. The BD-P1000 is backwards compatible and plays both standard DVDs and CDs in addition to supporting all DVD formats including, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+RW, and DVD+R.
