Jag tycker att den är ovanligt snyggför att vara en japs-produkt och faktiskt ett steg FRÅN traditionell design de begagnart sig av i fjärran östern. Det är ingen jätteskillnad men lite bättre är det.

"Japs-produkt"? Forsøker du å antyde at japansk-produsert elektronikk er eller ser så mye dårligere ut enn komponenter produsert i vesten? Mange av de beste komponentene innen hjemmeunderholdning blir designet og produsert i Japan. Da er det ikke bare fordomsfullt å komme med slike tøvete uttalelser, men også usaklig og feilaktig.

Hvis du virkelig mener å antyde at japanske produkter er generelt sett dårligere enn vestlige, så synes jeg det er litt ironisk med tanke på at mange her tross alt ser ut til å kjøpe "japse"-produkter. Utseende er en litt mer subjektiv sak, det er jeg enig i, men det kan så saktens sies at mange vestlige produkter heller ikke ser så veldig attraktive ut.

Jag är spänd på hur det kommer att låta hemma hos mig, har ett väldigt öppet vardagsrum med ganska svår ackustik, så den automatiska kallibreringen ska deffinitivt få bekänna färg. Uppgraderar från sonys budgetreceiver str-de 685. Det vore ju konstigt om jag inte hör en brutal skillnad, trots att jag behåller mina högtalare ett litet tag till.

Var innom Hi-Fi Klubben idag og lyttet på 3805 koblet opp mot Denon DVD-A11 og B&W DM603 S3-høyttalere. Det hersker ingen tvil om at jeg skal ha 3805. Har også bestemt meg for DVD-2200, selv om den antakeligvis ikke låter like bra som A11. For meg blir stereolydkvaliteten svært viktig til å starte med, da jeg ikke har plass til bakhøyttalere eller en større TV-skjerm. Men jeg ser på dette som en investering, og vil bygge ut anlegget senere.

Jeg vurderte også Pioneer 668 (husker ikke hele navnet) som ifølge flere tester har en litt bedre videodel sammenlignet med DVD-2200. Men Denon har kommet klart best ut når det gjelder lydkvalitet, og begge spillerne er i utgangspunktet meget bra på video.

Om lyden: Lyden var kanskje litt lys og frempå, men det er akkurat slik jeg liker det. Sammenlignet med H/K 505 receiveren (som tross alt koster under halvparten), så virket lydbildet noe roligere, renere og mer kontrollert. Jeg synes det låt veldig bra med diverse klassisk, akustisk musikk som jeg hadde tatt med meg. Jeg vil karakterisere lyden som luftig, distinkt og dynamisk, og lydkvaliteten kunne sammenlignes med Arcam AVR-200/Arcam CD73T komboen som jeg også har testlyttet til tidligere.

Mange surroundreceivere har ikke spesielt bra hodetelefon-utganger, men 3805 låt ganske bra med hodetelefoner også. Jeg koblet til mine Sennheiser HD600 klokker, og lyden var (ikke overraskende) merkbart bedre enn på H/K 505 receiveren koblet opp mot H/K DVD-506 LE. Nå forventer jeg ikke at DVD-2200 vil låte like bra som A11, men forsterkeren så ut til å gjøre en veldig bra jobb med å skape liv i musikken på en måte som 505 ikke makter. Midtonen var mer fremtredende og lydbildet virket langt mer åpent og romslig.

Gleder meg til imorgen, da skal jeg endelig hente forsterkeren og DVD-spilleren i sølv-finish

Det jeg lurer litt på er: Jeg ser at manualen anbefaler minst 10 cm klaring på sidene og over forsterkeren. Det betyr i praksis at jeg ikke kan plassere DVD-spilleren oppå forsterkeren. Er det noen som har litt erfaring med varmeutvikling og komponenter i rack? Kan dette føre til problemer? Hvor seriøst skal jeg ta dette rådet? Det er tross alt noen centimeters klaring mellom komponentene. Jeg merket at DVD-spilleren ble meget varm etter litt spilling (vesentlig varmere enn H/K DVD 506). Forsterkeren var bare litt lunken siden den ikke fikk kjørt seg skikkelig.

RC boxen fungerar också som ett komplement till delningsfiltret i Canton RC-L vars lådor egentligen är för små, med RC-L´s delningsfilter och boxens så får man ett "8:e" ordningens filter. Med boxen kan man också höja och sänka eller höja det nedre eller övre registret och fortfarande ha en "rak" frekvenskurva, inte som en eq med andra ord, men med liknande effekt. Allt detta för att till exempel korrigera ett överdämpat rum genom att höja och sänka osv osv...

Jeg kommer nok til å ta rådet i manualen til følge. Nordost-signalkabelen er litt for kort til at jeg simpelthen kan plassere komponentene ved siden av hverandre, så jeg får se om det kanskje er bedre at jeg plasserer forsterkeren oppå DVD-spilleren istedet. Ellers må jeg rett og slett kjøpe en ny kabel.

3) WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS I NEED TO BE AWARE OF WHEN PUTTING MY COMPONENTS IN A RACK OR OTHER SMALL, ENCLOSED SPACE?

Not too many! That’s because Denon products have sophisticated monitoring and safety features designed to sidestep problems before you need to deal with them directly. (Please refer to the FAQ on "Protection" for more detail.) However, that being said, there are some things you may want to hold in the back of your mind if you’re planning to build a special enclosure to show off your prized component collection.

There are two major challenges to deal with. The first is heat. Fortunately, that’s pretty easy to handle. The second is simply one of real estate -- where do you put all those cables, connectors, etc., you’ll need for your home entertainment system? And how do you know what goes where once you’ve hooked everything up?

Let’s look at the heat issue first.

First, remember that all electronic components produce heat. And heat is the enemy of long, trouble-free life. Some components, like power amplifiers and surround sound receivers, for example, produce much more heat than source components like CD players, cassette decks, and tuners. etc. That’s only natural. After all, Denon’s power amplifiers are all high current designs and high current mean higher heat.

The second thing to remember is that heat rises.

So if you want to avoid heat’s long-term detrimental effects, the best thing is make sure you adequate air circulation around all the components in your enclosure. And you can insure that by having enough room around your components to let the air circulate by itself.

Here’s a general suggestion: Make sure the real heat-producers have plenty of space immediately above them. Don’t, for example, place a CD player or VCR immediately on top of your Dolby Digital receiver! Most surround receivers and power amplifiers need at least 4" or 5" of open, unrestricted air space immediately above the top cover. This lets the hot air rise naturally and helps keep internal circuitry cool enough to function dependably over the long haul. If you absolutely don’t have this amount of space in your cabinet or closet, you can:

(1) Use a "Whisper Fan" (a small, quiet fan specifically designed to cool electronic components) to pull air over your unit’s heat sinks to draw the heat away it. The disadvantage here is that, although these fans are VERY quiet, you still might hear one if you’re sitting close to your stack of components and playing music or a video very quietly. Remember that there are different ways of mounting fans to minimize resonances. Sometimes foam helps. Check with the fan’s manufacturer for recommendations.

(2) Use perforated shelves so that, even if your real "heat factories" don’t have the air space around them we recommend, the shelf immediately above won’t completely block the heated air and trap it close to the components. This passive approach is certainly quiet but may not give you the cooling power you need for a high powered, multi-channel audio/video system.

NU har vi kommit till avdelningen rumskorrigering med Denon 3805.


Jag tog mig tid att stänga ner min linux-server, stängde balkongdörren, och fick på så sätt ganska tyst i rummet. Detta är en förutsättnig för att "rumskorrigerings" skall fungera överhuvudtaget. Det optimala är att göra detta mitt i natten

Fram med manualen och den mätmickrofon som medföljer.

I manualen läser vi -"Sätt micken i sweetspoot". Detta betyder kort o gott - sätt mickrofonen där DU sitter och lyssnar.

Jag har den förnämliga möjligheten att använda ett kamerastativ, då micken passar på den (standard 3,5mm gänga under micken så man kan skruva på den på ett stativ). Detta gör att man får upp micken i EXAKT sweetspot.

Sedan aktiverar man helt enkelt bara AUTO-SET ROOM EQ Setup och väljer YES.
Nu går förstärkaren igenom 11 lägen, och när den är klar så har den valt utifrån vad "rumskorrigeringen" mätt.

Beroende på oljud i bakgrunden med trimmade moppar och crosscycklar, så fick jag göra om detta 2ggr.


Hur bra fungerade det då?

Låt mig först säga så här. Jag tycker att rumskorrigering är att likna en defualt installation av windows XP där det hela fungerar tillfredsställande. Men! alla som "tweakar" sina system vet att man kan få systemet ganska mer "funktionellt", stabilt, om man pillar "manuellt" med inställnigar.

Mina "mätvärden" som Denon 3805 mätte upp, stämde inte alls enligt de antal meter jag har till resp högtalare. Det kan bero på den "micken" som medföljer, även om jag uppfattar att den är av ganska god kvalité.

Det diffade på nästan 1meter! på frontarna (jag har exakt 4m på båda frontar från sweetpsot). Denon'en satte enligt följande :

Denon 3805 m. rumskorrigering :

Frontar: 3,1meter - verkligt avstånd 4meter - +0db L, +1db R - FEL
Center: 2,5meter - verkligt avstånd 3,5meter - +2db - FEL
Surround : 1,5meter - verkligt avstånd 1,5meter - +1db L, +1db R - OK


Slutsats

Rumskorrigeringens EQ kurvor ställer den helt OK, samt avstånd till Surround. Men när det kommer till att ställa olika värden, där man har exakt samma förutsättnigar (frontar) så fungerar det inte tillfredsställande, då den mäter helt fel avstånd. Detta är dock ganska enkelt att korrigera manuellt i förstärkaren. Jag är inte heller helt nöjd med hur förstärkaren visar resultat i displayen, utan skall man göra en rumskorrigering, så koppla upp den mot en TV, så att ni får upp förstärkarens inställningar (on-screen-display). Detta underlättar inställningar, tro mig

Efter rumskorrigering, gjorde jag en rå-reset på min stärkare, la in dom värdena jag hade från början, och det är jag nöjd med. För att ytterligare säkerställa att jag har kvar dom värdena, så låste jag min setup, så att ingen annan av misstag kan vara där inne och pilla. Fungerar utmärkt.

OBS! Detta är mina högst personliga intryck, som INTE skall tolkas som en generell förutsättning, då vi ALLA som köper 3805'an, med största sannolikhet har helt olika "*setups" i botten.

* Olika högtalare, rumsakustik och annat som påverkar.

Har själv precis provat rumskorrigeringen. Jag har precis omvänt resultat mot mouse. Mina avstånd stämde i det närmaste exakt! +-5cm, vilket jag anser är klart godkänt. Även nivåjusteringen fungerade bra. Jag har suttit med ljudtycksmätare och kontrollerat efteråt och det går inte att ställa in bättre nivåer. Jag håller på för fullt och provlyssna, de första intrycken jag får är att den automatiska korrigeringen har lyckats bättra på klangmatchningen mellan mina högtalare. Är hitintills väldigt nöjd. .
Återkommer senare med fler intryck.

Nej men däremot så visade det sig att micken's lödningar innuti var rena skämtet. Öppnade den och konstaterade att den som gjort dom lödningarna, bör sysselsätta sig med nått helt annat - kallödnigar.

Så, fram med lödkolven och tennsug. Sedan lödde jag om kopplingarna RIKTIGT.

O minnsann, nu blev det helt andra värden, men åndå inte rätt.
Det diffar enligt följande :

Frontar: 3,9meter - verkligt avstånd 4meter - +0db L, +0db R - FEL
Center: 3,4meter - verkligt avstånd 3,5meter - +2db - FEL
Surround : 1,4meter - verkligt avstånd 1,5meter - +2db L, +2db R - FEL

Det diffar exakt 10cm, och det är kanske inte så mycket att hänga upp sig på.
Däremot är kurvorna jämnare, och överlag låter det ganska mycket bättre.
Men jag är fortfarande inte helt nöjd. Jag tycker att en manuell kalibrering låter bättre.

Jeg har ikke funnet noen 'profesjonelle' omtaler av 3805 ennå, men det ser ut til at Audioholics kommer til å publisere en omtale om ikke så lenge. 3805 ble i allefall anbefalt som forsterker i deres $12 K Recommended Home Theater System.

nja, farsan var och susade upp hit till sundsvall och hälsade på ( han bor i stockholm ). Därför blev det inget, vi tittade på vårt nya hus istället ( affären är klar nu ). Sedan blev det en blekka som tog nån dag att återhämta sig ifrån... jag ska ta det så fort jag får tillfälle, dom är lite snåla med utlåningen då jag "bara" får ha den över en dag. Trots att jag lovat att handla den hos dom om ett köp blir av =)

Det bästa är då att ta den när dom stänger på lördag, då får jag ha den till måndag förmiddag i alla fall...

Jag tror det ovan står, med all önskvärd tydlighet, (?) vad som bör sägas och skrivas om denna Denon. Jag fick samma intryck redan vid smyglyssningarna på klubben, så då struntar jag helt resolut i att hasta iväg en amatörrecension. Jag ska nämligen till stockholm över söndag-tisdag och kan därför inte göra någon stilfull lyssningsbedömning hemma i lugn och ro...

Men jag håller med, det är ju förjäkla synd att man inte har råd att handla både Denonen och en kapabel 2 kanalsutrustning, från kina. Jag svänger fram och tillbaka på den punkten (på grund av begränsade resurser, har ju just köpt surround-högtalare för 7000,-) men det lutar åt att jag måste inhandla en 2 kanalare från kina först. Möjligen ramlar det in en summa pengar på kontot snart, och då är det ingen tvekan om att det blir denna Denon också.

Jag lär nog köpa till ett rotel rmb-1075 så man e helt säker på att man blir nöjd... för steget i 3805 borde väl inte ha blivit någe bättre även om förfröstärkar delen i den låter betydligt bättre än tidigare?

Det är ju ingen "high-end" förstärkare på nått sätt. Men som jag skrev i en annan tråd -"det är ett helt annat drag under galoscherna", vilket i sin tur betyder att den inte alls låter samma som ex 3802,03. Inte ens i flerkanalsläge.

Jag tror så här. Den som har ett "trögdrivet" system, bör kanske? kompletera med en förstärkare. Den som har en mer "normal" högtalarsetup, kommer att finna, att 3805 presterar oerhört balanserat och välljudande.

Jag blir mer o mer nöjd för varje gång den åker på. Jag kan nu lättare avgöra vilka filmer som faktiskt har en usel ljudmix, och dom som är rena referensdiskar. Något som man fick lyssna på mer än 1gång tidigare.

Det betyder att skärpan i ljudet har höjst högst avsevärt. Det finns en renhet i förstärkaren som säkerligen av många, kommer att uppfattas åt det tråkiga hållet. Jag tycker detta är bra, för det kommer att avgöra vilket behov jag har att uppgradera mitt system.

Jag skall testa bi-wire med mitt system i helgen, och det är det som jag tror är det sista som kommer att behövas.
