Arc System Works announces World End Syndrome for PS4, Switch, and PS Vita

Web broadcast set for October 26.



The latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation reveals World End Syndrome, a new title from Arc System Works and developed by Toybox for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PS Vita.

The game features a scenario by Tomio Kanazawa, character design by Yuuki Katou, and music by Niita Takashi. Koya Takahashi is handling backgrounds and movies.

Two characters have been revealed. Maimi Kususe is voiced by Hisako Tojo, and Haruka Kanna is voiced by Shiori Izawa.

A web broadcast with more details is planned for October 26 at 14:00 JST. A teaser website for World End Syndrome was launched earlier this morning.

Rocket League launches November 14 on Switch

Rocket League is coming to Switch on November 14, Psyonix has revealed. The game was previously pinned down for a holiday launch.

Rocket League on Switch will include the features, upgrades, and content from other versions along with support for all of the system’s various play modes. Exclusive Battle-Cars and Customization items are in as special unlockables as well based on Mario and Metroid.

Kimishima: Over 300 software publishers developing for Switch, third-party lineup, growing appeal from children / women

Nintendo Switch has not been on the market for long, but we already have a lot of software publishers who see Nintendo Switch as an opportunity to expand their business moving forward. More than 300 software publishers at present, including indie developers, have begun developing game titles.

This is just some of the lineup that has been announced. As you can see, the wide variety of genres among the titles will further increase interest for Nintendo Switch. Having a broader consumer base will make it even easier for software publishers to do business. We are also continuing our work to establish a collaborative framework that facilitates the creation of more successful titles for our software publisher partners.

Based on the data at hand, we can see that the growth of our appeal among children and female consumers is beginning, more so for the Japanese market than for the US and European markets. Looking at intent to purchase among consumers who have not yet bought Nintendo Switch, there are indications that purchase intent is trending upward not only among children and families in their 30s but also among junior and senior high school students, and consumers in their 20s, of both genders. Nintendo is going to continue to work hard to expand our consumer base, among families and game fans as well, to increase purchases.

Overcooked: Special Edition, Worms W.M.D., Yoku’s Island Express coming to retail on Switch

Team17 has partnered with Sold Out for a number of new physical releases. Among these are Overcooked: Special Edition, Worms W.M.D., and Yoku’s Island Express for Switch.

Each one of these physical releases are scheduled for 2018. We have the Switch boxart for Overcooked above. The general packaging image for Yoku’s Island Express is also included – just with PS4 branding instead of the Switch version.

- Revelations features a 1080p resolution when playing on a television, and 720p resolution in portable mode
- Revelations is 60fps
- by holding ZL on the Joy-Con, you can aim your gun with the right Joy-Con’s motion control
- use the left Joy-Con as a magazine to simulate a reloading motion
- other motion controls include slashing horizontally to simulate a knife attack, and swinging for a quick reload
- motion controls are optional and can be set to on or off from the options settings
- motion controls are not supported with the Pro Controller
- classic controls are also available
- HD Rumble allows for more detailed and complex vibrations, meaning new kinds of rumble not available in PS4/XB1 versions
- Revelations 2 also runs at 1080p when playing on a television
- Revelations 2 is not 60fps
- due to the fewer buttons available when sharing Joy-Con, the developers have said that it will have a unique control scheme

Bandai Namco adding more resources for Switch development

Company initially didn't expect a fast attach rate.

Bandai Namco is adding more resources in developing games for Switch, company president Mitsuaki Taguchi said during the company’s latest financial briefing.

The company is aiming to boost games for Switch in the year starting next April.

“We have put out three games on the Switch so far and all of them are doing well,” Taguchi said. “It’s a shame, but we didn’t think the Switch [would] be accepted this fast.”

Update 5:15 a.m.: Taguchi added that Bandai Namco plans to announce three big Switch-exclusive titles with worldwide development from spring to summer 2018. PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC development will also continue, with plenty of development resources available.
