Hej!

Sitter och kollar lite på roliga prylar och ser att man kan ha gps på tre:s telefoner.

Vad innebär A-GPS? Måste man ha ett abonnemang för att kunna se sin position överhuvudtaget eller gäller det enbart för kartorna? Jag vill bara ha reda på positionen som jag är på i lat/long. Går det?

A GPS innebär en snikvariant av gps som inte är lika precis som gps, TRE laddar ner info från gps och lägger det i sitt system som sedan använder det via A GPS för att göra en snabbare positionering.

Är det så att detta är en tjänst i 3:s nät, och inte en funktion i telefonen. Jag undrar alltså om telefonen verkligen har en GPS mottagare.

Jag har pillat på en kompis 3G-telefon och jag kunde inte hitta någon "vanlig" GPS på den.

Detta är saxat från ett annat forum som handlar om Motorola A920...

Then i can tell you all that its a REAL GPS reciever !

The A920 has a SiRFstarIIe/LP Chipset and thats a full 12 channel GPS chip.

The small antenna sticking up from the phone is the GPS antenna the stick for external antenna at the back would be quite silly without a real GPS inside.

On the right side of Camera eye inside the phone is there a UMTS/GPRS/GSM antenna.

Well i got this info from an Danish Engeener that have Dissabled the phone and tested it. After that i tried it with http://www.wayfinder.se Software and i worked GREAT  ( or almost ).......

Here a another link to software that shows the position of the phone without any radio ( turn your phone to airplane mode) and then use the software and you will see that it will plot your position ( not 100% exactly) but in my case within 15 Met.....

In 3' s latest issue of Business Partner (A magazine for their business clients) they have an explanation of differerent words - under AGPS it actually says that it's better than normal GPS, because it works faster when it's using the mobile masts to help know where it is an therefore knows which sattelites to communicate with - it DOESN'T say that it uses only 1 sat (as stated in some forums - which is where I heard it).

Vet någon vara man kan hitta programvara för GPS:en i en A920/A925 som gör att man kan få fram Long/Lat och även kör detta mot en dator på NMEA 0183 protkollet???
